Giving Thanks

I wanted to share a few things I am grateful for this evening.
  • My parents marriage. My parents celebrated their 35th anniversary today. I appreciate their marriage so much, they have been a great example to all (6) of us kids. I have never heard them holler at each other, they had some disagreements but I never heard them have full fledged argument. They have supported each other and worked together to raise their kids and serve God together. I am very thank-ful for my parents.
  • I am also very thank-ful for God's church. What a wonderful time we had today (morning and evening) or singing, learning, fellowship, breaking of bread and of prayer. The body of Christ is wonderful.
  • I am so thank-ful for prayer, for God allowing us to have an open relationship with Him. That He is there listening all of the time, no matter what the problem or what hour we come. Tonight we had a call concerning a serious situation with a friend, our hearts were so heavy and I am reminded of this verse: "In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." Romans 8:26 & 27. It was such that we didn't exactly know how to pray, though we did try and we didn't know exactly what to do to help but we knew that God did and that he was with our friend and would also be with us to help us. We have such a great and loving God!!!

  1. Thanks, Abbi! Your little reminders are always good for me.

Quick question...I see the "create blog" sign up. Is your e-mail address protected or do you get lots of junk having it out there? Shelly up north

  2. WOW - 35 years, what a great testimony! :)

Prayer really is amazing, it's incredible to think that the maker of the universe not only listens to us, but actually WANTS us to talk to him. God is good! Thank you for your encouraging words,

    Love in Christ, Erica

  3. Thanks for the notes!
Shelly- the "Create Blog" doesn't take them to my account, it goes to a google page so that others can create a blog on blogspot. People can find my e-mail in the about me page but I don't think I have gotten any junk mail from that. I haven't noticed a rise in spam since I started blogging.

  6. Abbi WOW I am soooo thankful for your parents too!! They are one of the few marriages I have seen that I can honestly say I really admire and would love to have more one on one time to learn how they opperate! Growing up in a non-christain home hinders me as a wife and mom so much not having that influence and leadership in my life has really slowed down my growth as a christian. I am so thankful for them! I miss them tremendously! YOU TOO! Some days, ok more then just some...I wish we lived in Bemidji!!! The church there to me seems like home! Things are so pure there. That is one more thing I am thankful for is the church there! I always feel safe and at home when I am there! You guys always welcome us! Thanks! God you are so awesome! Love Angie (my heart is in MN) IA
