We are outside!

The laundry piles high, the floors need to be cleaned, the house gets cluttered, blog posts don't get written, the business gets neglected, letters don't get written and the dishes go undone (though actually I did get them all done today! Yeah!) for we are outside!

Whether it be working or playing there is so much we want to do outside that it is hard to keep up with the inside things. I do think life is maybe slowing down a bit so hopefully I can work outside and still get house things done too pretty soon but the last week or so much of the time the house got neglected. Also we are nearly done planting the garden (yes we do have a short summer here) so "all" that we will need to do is weed and harvest.

Here are a few of the things that were keeping us busy outside.....

Mara helping the peas grow up the arch.
The boys making a bike trail through the woods.

Megan planting her own patch of corn in a sand pile.

Biking at Itasca State Park.

Jonathan biking.
Watching a parade of Motorcycles (hundreds!) as they went by the end of our rode in their "Ride for the Troops".

Canoeing. I finally got my pictures uploaded so I plan on sharing more pictures from our canoe trip soon.
Do you find yourself outside a lot more at this time of year?

  1. This is precisely the time of year when any hard work has to be done before 11:00 a.m.( shopping, cleaning, laundry, cooking, ironing, gardening, etc.). The middle part of the day is spent "easy doing it" because of the heat. Then after 5:00 you work again. Supper is between 8:30 and 9:00 and then most people take to the streets, walking, playing, visiting friends or neighbours till midnight or so. This is the way most people spend their summer.
    Blessings.
