Well the snow is falling again outside (it is really a breath taking beautiful world out there right now - with snow thickly clinging to all the trees!) and am really enjoying the little "garden" that I planted inside! (You can see some beginning photos here). On Friday we were able to pick some lettuce to add to a salad (made primarily of store bought greens). It wasn't much but we grew it and that is always fun!
Our pepper plants and tomatoes are coming along nicely. It is really fun to watch them grow and I am guessing the tomatoes might start blooming before to long.
Even though we aren't getting any fruit while it is still winter I do think we will at least have a very good head start on the season and that is going to be fun!
This little experiment also makes me think about how people in very small spaces can grow things. Home grown organic produce is so good for you not only physically but mentally it is so neat to grow your own food! I recommend it to everybody - no matter how much space you have.
I would guess a lot of you are actually planting stuff outside now - I would love to hear about your gardens or your garden plans!

We have had our second cutting of lettuce that I think Gregory and Bea planted about the same time you guys did your planting. Combined with my sprouts we have had enough for everyone to have salad, which is fun. The chives and other early flower plants are up and dark green outside, I hope this snow we got last night doesn't cause them any harm. I am definatly in the mood for working in the ground right now.
