31 Days of Praying for Our Country- For Law Enforcement and the People that they Protect

This year has been a big one of discussion about law enforcement in our country. It has also been a sad one where many have gotten killed. I know with many families of policemen there is a very real fear that something could happen to their loved one while they are on duty. We have some friends in this situation and so we have done a lot of praying for them. For both safety and peace. Some of the things I am praying for are:

That the law enforcement officers would have....

  • Wisdom (that they would know how to deal with each situation).
  • Safety
  • Patience
  • Love for the people that they serve.
  • Respect from the people.
  • Peace and an understanding that God is in control.

Here is a scripture that shares some on this subject:

"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. ..." Romans 13:1-7

  1. Thank you for sharing your thoughtful post. It hits home for me as my oldest son is a police officer. I appreciate your prayer very much. Again, Thank you.

  2. We are a Law Enforcement Family and it means so much to know that people are praying for us. Mark goes to work each day with more and more uncertainty about the people he will encounter. Some people have turned to hate towards law enforcement and it's quite worrisome. Our family thanks you for spreading an encouraging and peaceful message!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I really enjoy it when you join in the conversation.

If you have a question please feel free to ask and I will attempt to answer it (if I can!) as I have time.
