Did you enjoy diving into God's word this week? I did. I just love how I find new nuggets and understand just a little more each time I spend time reading and studying His word.
What did I read that cause me to worship God more?
"Know therefore that the Lord you God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments;" Deuteronomy 7:9
Oh, I am so thankful for his faithfulness and His love!
What scripture touched my heart this week?
"And the brethren when they heart about us, came from there as far as the Market of Appius and Three Inns to meet us; and when Paul saw them, he thanked God and took courage." Acts 28:15
I find it really neat to read about how people went out of their way to go see Paul and that their coming really encouraged him. It is a good reminder to me of how people can encourage one another but possibly just doing the simple thing of "being there".
What scripture was a call to action?
"Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." Deut. 6:4-9
Every time I read this it inspires me to act. I want to be one that constantly is telling others about God. That I would speak of Him to my children and all day long. I want His praise to always be on my lips!
What interesting fact did I find?
"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse" Romans 1:20
This so plainly states that people can easily realize there is a God by simply looking at His creation. If people choose to not believe in God and follow Him - they don't have any excuses. This is a very sobering thought. It does inspire me to go out and spread the gospel so that people will not only realize there is a God but they will understand His great love for them in sending His Son to die for us on the cross so that we could have life eternal.
What jewels did you find in God's word this past week? Have you been reading faithfully? I hope so! I always love to hear from you!

I always read in Acts after Easter, it was so neat that you had been reading that bit too. I'm always struck by the life in the early church and want to be as generous and courageous as they were ! I don't think I am though !
Lately I feel in a rut with reading the Bible...like I just don't enjoy what I am reading. I had been reading whole books at a time (like in one sitting) of the New Testament to get a real feel for the book. I've done that for a while now. So now I think I need a different approach. I think I am going to look up certain words and read the passages that have that word in them.
I enjoyed your sharing of what the Word of the Lord had blessed you with this week! I've been reading through Proverbs, and there are so many nuggets to be discovered in every single scripture, amazing! One of my favorites today found in Prov. 18:10 "The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe." I'm so thankful for the name of the Lord Jesus that we can call on when in need.
Always enjoy your scripture sharings Abbi! Have a blessed day :)
Thanks to all of you for sharing! I love hearing about what you are reading too.
Nola - Though you method of reading a whole book at a time sounds like a neat one I hope that your new method feels fresh and fun and interesting. That sounds like a neat plan as well. Please keep me updated!
