The other morning when I got up I was still feeling tired (because I think I had been grinding my teeth in the night) and my head and neck were aching. I was also feeling overwhelmed with some of the responsibilities I have with some organizations I am a part of. Over all the day didn't look like it was starting very well as I knew I had a rather messy house that needed some work as well as laundry that needed to be done and children that needed to be taught and I simply didn't feel up to it.
I am so thankful that I have the habit of spending time with God first thing in the morning. My time with Him totally changed my day.
I spent time praying- turning my problems over to God, asking for His help, asking for His forgiveness for some bad attitudes that I had been having and seeking His wisdom. Then I read Psalms chapter 18 as part of my devotion and these verses really jumped out at me:

"For You light my lamp;
The Lord my God illumines my darkness.
For by You I can run upon a troop;
And by my God I can leap over a wall."
Psalms 18:28 & 29
I was thankful that God wasn't asking me to fight any physical battles or go out and jump over walls but David's words in that chapter still totally apply to me- I have a God that can help me do anything that He wants me to do. I cannot do things on my own but with His strength I can do what He wants me to do.
After that I spend much of my day praying to God asking for His strength and wisdom and thanking Him for the strength that He provides.
And do you know what?
I had a really good day!
