This morning at church Mathew had a great sermon on intercessory prayer and among the many great verses he used was this one:
"The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will." 2 Timothy 2:24-26
This scripture points out a truth we often don't think about, and that is that there are two categories of people, those that are bond-servants of God and those that are being held captive by the devil.
Those of us who have chosen to be God's bond-servant have a job to do. I love how clearly these verses held us to see what needs to be done. I need to pray and study God's word so that I am able to be kind to all, teach, patient, gently correct and help others escape from the devil.
I hope that you too will strive to do what God wants you to do!
