Choose Life

This past week I read to the kids from Deuteronomy chapter 30 and it really touched us. Though it is speaking to the people of Israel so much of it is a message that we can listen to and apply to our lives, our country too.

I wanted to share some of it with you.....

"....and you return to the Lord you God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and you sons, then the Lord you God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you,....." (vs 2 & 3)

"Moreover the Lord you God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live."(vs 6)

"For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. It is not in heaven, that you should say, "Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it? Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, "Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?" But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it." (vs 11-14)

"See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity; in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the Lord you God may bless you in the Land where you are entering to possess it." (vs 15 & 16)

"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So chose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him;" (vs 19 & 20)

CHOOSE LIFE!

God has given us a road map for life in His word the Bible. He asks us to follow it and He will bless us. Now it is true that we will at times go through trials but He is there to help us through them. Overall though when we follow God's principles for our life and we obey Him life goes much smoother and He blesses over and over and over!

We each get to make decisions in our life as to what road we will follow - Won't you please choose to follow God and to choose life?

Abbi,

I came across your blog while doing some research on bloggers who might be interested in reviewing a new title by Dannah Gresh and Dr. Juli Slattery. They have co-authored a book called Pulling Back the Shades (releasing March 1 from Moody Publishers), that exposes the dangers of erotica for both single and married women.

Dr. Slattery and Gresh examine erotica from a spiritual and sexual standpoint, providing Biblical teaching, personal stories and testimonies from those affected by erotica to help women navigate this uncharted territory and discover how to embrace their sexuality and spirituality. While the Bible is clear on topics such as adultery and incest, Slattery and Gresh point out where even God is “grey” on sexual matters.

Would you be interested in reading and reviewing this title for us? We're looking for reviews to post during the month of March, and would be happy to provide an extra copy if you'd be interested in hosting a giveaway.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
