Prayer

Happy February to all of you!!

Being the first day of the month I am starting the series on little ways to love your husband every day. This is something I am trying to work on more and I thought it would be neat if I could encourage you, and in turn you could also encourage me in this journey.

One thing that I think is very important in marriage (and truly in life over all) is prayer! When praying I pray for our marriage, that is would stay strong, that we would stay true to each other in every way, that our love would grow and that we can work together. I pray for Ken, for his relationship with God, just in general for everything going on in his life, work, various responsiblities and safety. I also pray for his role as husband and father. I pray for me, that everyday I would be the wife that I should be. That I would have wisdom (all wisdom come from God!) and that I would be joyful and loving.

Prayer is something that can happen all day long. I have a specific morning prayer time when I usually talk to God about these things but I want to remember to pray about this more often throughout the day. 1 Thess 5:17 says to "pray without ceasing."

When we are praying we also need to remember to tell God thank you for our husband. To think of the many different aspects about him that you are thankful for. This can really change our way of thinking at times!

So today I am wanting to do a lot of praying and I encourage you to as well!

"With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in veiw, be on the alert with all perserverance and petition for all the saints," Ephesians 6:18

Don't you find that when we are agravated, by praying for our men we find release and clarity? Sometimes I resist the urge to pray because I WANT to indulge my temper tantrum a little longer. Thankfully the Lord does not let me get away with that for too long! Great post!

Praying for our husbands is very important. This is something I know I need to do more of all day long.

Michelle, You have a great point and I can relate to that. Obviously it is not right but Satan would love to have us indulge in a pity party or be upset. Praying is not what he wants us to do.

Jackie, Me too! I am reminding myself to pray!
