Making your home a haven ~ Thursday edition

Today for Making your Home a Haven, Monica specified it as a day for fun. I thought it was neat that she included that because we can clean all we want to and have a picture perfect house but if it isn't a home full of fun and laughter, a joy filled home, it isn't going to be much of a haven.
We had a good day today. I didn't fit in as many things as I would have liked to but I tend to over plan anyway.
Some of the fun things we did do were:
*Wrote some letters. Aaron, Megan and I had fun using stickers. The older two were busy at their school work.
* For our start of school we enjoyed doing some action songs and worked on learning the books of the Bible and some new Bible verses.
*We went on a walk to deliver a present and got to see a little bitty baby!
* We went over to the new church building and had fun helping my parents load up their truck with scrap sheet rock to go to the dump. The kids also had fun exploring in the woods and finding lots of thick moss there. It is very neat to see the progress on the new building, come New Years we hope to be meeting there.
* We went through all of our boxes of tomatoes and found a bunch of ripe ones! (Also a few rotten ones that are heading out to the compost pile.) I guess I will be busy preparing these soon. I am also dreaming of some yummy BLTs.
*I finally made a phone call to deal with issues in our Reader's Digest subscription. It actually wasn't very difficult and made me wonder why I had put it off for so long. :-)
*We tried something new today that I am hoping to make a daily thing. At around 5pm I set the timer for 15 minutes and we all worked as fast as we could to find things that were in places where they didn't belong and put them away. We were able to get quite a bit done in 15 minutes! It was nice to have the house looking very orderly when Ken came home.
*We also did a bunch of Laundry.
*For supper we ate Steak, baked potatoes, corn and tomatoes.
* This evening we played Monopoly. Thursday nights are the night we have set aside to do fun things as a family.
We had a very good day. (And I am feeling pretty much all better, Yea!!)
How was your day?

Fun!
The church building is really coming along.
We try to clean up for 5 minutes at 4:00 before Mike shows up at 4:30, but it doesn't always work. :)
Quick question: I got a message that you posted about KS but can't find it as I look at your blog. Did you delete the post?
