A Happy Birthday for Megan

Today is Megan's birthday and this morning we woke up to a beautiful landscape. It feels a little unseasonal after lots of warm weather (and green grass, flowers and little leaves) but I enjoyed it anyway.

Above is the deck we ate on just 2 days ago.

Megan turned 6 today. What a blessing she has been in our lives!

Megan's favorite breakfast is waffles so we made some yummy whole wheat ones and topped them with raspberries and whipped cream (from the raw cream from a jersey cow) or maple syrup.

Alice (above) is a new addition to our family as of today. Jonathan made carved eating utensils for Alice as a birthday gift to Megan.
Mara fixed up some very cute bags- one for Megan and one for Alice, both with beaded Geckos in them as a present for Megan. She also made a beaded necklace and hair tie for Alice to wear.

I didn't get a picture of Megan with the present from Aaron, he didn't make anything this year but used some of his hard earned money to buy a present. I am always so grateful to see the generosity of the kids to each other (and to others).

This evening Grandpa and Grandma came over to help celebrate as well as a couple of other friends.
Megan requested Lemon Meringue Pie for her birthday "cake".
Megan in her new birthday nightgown which I put together using two t-shirts that we were given. I also made a nightgown for Alice using some of the extra fabric.

Goodnight birthday girl! (and goodnight to all of you too!)

Happy Birthday to Megan! I have 4 Simplicity patterns (8962, 7083, 8692, 7688) that would fit Alice. I have been looking for a home for them as my 20yr old is no longer begging for clothes for her doll. If you would like them, please let me know and I will get them right out to you.

Aaahhh, happy belated birthday to your big girl. A big Spanish/Catalan hug from over here where we live!
We could also swap snow for sunshine...my children haven't much experience with snow ;)

I really like the cup and silverware that Jonathan carved for Alice. What a great job!
